THE SPIRIT OF THE SONGWRITER EXISTS IN ALL OF US
Nowhere is this more evident than in the mountain country of North Carolina. Music has always been a key part of family life up here and still remains so to this day. Throughout history, local songwriters have told the stories of their time. Songs about good times, bad times, war, hunger, fear, love, relationships and life in general.

Nashville Songwriters Association International started the regional workshop program in 1990 as a way to bring aspiring songwriters together for the purpose of improving their talent and providing a link to Nashville and the music industry. The Boone Songwriters Workshop was established by former workshop coordinator Cheri Maynard in January 2002. The focus of the workshop is to provide training, encouragement and kinship among local songwriters. Members present songs to the group for constructive feedback and suggestions from their fellow songwriters. Valuable exercises to help develop new ideas, overcome 'writers block', and improve lyrics and melody are presented at each meeting. Showcases are scheduled regularly which provide a venue for members to perform their music publicly.

If you are serious about songwriting, the Boone Songwriters Workshop is where you want to be! Contact us to learn more. Join NSAI and let your music and your voice be heard.

Workshop Meetings: Temporarily closed due to lack of members.
